EHRP funds narrative journalism on American economic hardship and financial insecurity. The editors are actively seeking pitches for reported features, investigative narratives and personal essays. We are open not only to great written journalism, but also photography and multimedia. Once accepted, we fund, edit and help place these pieces.
For Reporters, Photographers, and Filmmakers
Pitches and applications are accepted all year long with the amount of support dependent on funding available. Writers can apply for funding and expenses by submitting a pitch. Filmmakers and and photographers should send a proposal with a budget, time frame for delivery, as well as samples of previous work.
We encourage applicant interest from within the communities we highlight in particular. Thanks for your interest.
