EHRP-Funded Pieces Score Four LA Press Club Awards Nominations
Three EHRP-supported stories scored a total of four nominations for the L.A. Press Club’s SoCal Journalism Awards, the organization announced on July 6. Annabelle Gurwitch earned a nomination for best columnist in a newspaper with over 50,000 circulation for “They were homeless. I took them in. Would you?” (co-published with the Los Angeles Times), while Amy DePaul, Rian Dundon, and Gema Galiana were recognized in the News Feature – General News category for “Honoring the Workers Killed on the Job” (co-published with In These Times).
Eric Pape netted two nominations for “Scared to Death: Immigrants in Need of Health Care Face Perilous Choices” (co-published with Truthout and Capital & Main) — one for minority/immigration reporting and another for medical/health reporting.
