In August 2024, EHRP senior editor Deborah Jian Lee met and recruited journalists at three conferences: the Institute for Independent Journalism Freelance Business Workshop in Chicago, the National Association of Black Journalism Convention and Career Fair in Chicago and the Asian American Journalism Association National Convention in Austin.
