Join the Fight for a Worker Media in Trump’s America

Dear Friend,
We are, today, facing a second Trump presidency and likely dark times for both American journalism and the working people that we at EHRP cover and publish. Our social safety nets will be further unraveled. Corporations will continue to privatize everything from the schools our children attend to the water we drink. Nonetheless, a plurality of American voters have co-signed this, expressing an unprecedented alienation from politics and institutions as we know them.
In the election’s aftermath, we recognize that more than ever, readers may be disaffected from journalism that they perceive as by and for elites. At EHRP, we believe that one of the best ways to counter that (overly broad) perception is by providing reporting by, for and about working class people. But EHRP needs additional support so we can fund these writers on the ground, now that they are facing not just their own economic issues but also probable targeting by a virulently anti-media Trump administration.
In addition, it’s urgent that we support EHRP – and non-profit media as a whole – because journalism’s billionaire problem has been on terrible display during this election. Our moment demands an independent media that is run by the uncompromised so we can continue the work of advancing the truth.
Your support makes these vital stories possible. Join the fight and donate today.
In solidarity,
The EHRP Team

The Economic Hardship Reporting Project supports independent journalists so they can create gripping stories which often counter the typical disparaging narratives about inequality. This high-quality journalism is then co-published with mainstream media outlets mobilizing readers to address systemic economic hardship.
