EHRP IN THE PRESS

• EHRP is the proud recipient of a five-year $1.65 million grant from the Ford Foundation’s BUILD program! News of the grant has appeared in Yahoo! Finance, in these newsletters, the Investors Hangout and elsewhere. Learn more about how EHRP will use these generous funds to strengthen working class media on our Instagram and website.
• The Gas Station Attendant, an EHRP-supported biographical documentary from Karla Murthy, continues to receive plaudits, most recently in Filmmaker Magazine, Talkhouse, and Cinema Express. It also recently won the Special Mention Jury Award in the International Competition at the Sheffield DocFest. (Watch her acceptance speech here and watch the trailer on Deadline.)

• In an evocative photo essay, EHRP contributor Rian Dundon captures a Los Angeles of brave protest, deserted streets, and the constant threat of ICE – alongside makeshift memorials at sites where people have been abducted. • Local Illinois newspaper Galena Gazette calls EHRP Book Fellow Karie Fugett’s memoir, Alive Day, “unflinching” and a “searing indictment of our nation’s refusal” to support its veterans. (It’s also a Book of the Month club pick.)
• EHRP pieces were recently mentioned in CJR by journalist Bill Grueskin (our radio piece got “a laurel”) and twice in The Atlantic.

EHRP RECOMMENDS

• Watch “Two American Families,” a PBS film produced and narrated by the late, beloved EHRP Advisory Board Member Bill Moyers. The film, decades in the making, just won the Emmy for Outstanding Social Issue Documentary! EHRP hosted an event for the film last year with two of its producers Tom Casciato and Kathleen Hughes and our Executive Director Alissa Quart, as well as one of its central subjects.
