Deborah Jian Lee is an award-winning journalist, radio producer, fellow at Harvard Divinity School and the author of Rescuing Jesus: How People of Color, Women and Queer Christians are Reclaiming Evangelicalism (Beacon Press). She has worked as a staff reporter for the Associated Press, taught journalism at Columbia University, and has bylines in Esquire, Fast Company, ELLE, Foreign Policy, Slate, Playboy, Religion Dispatches, TIME, WBEZ, WNYC and others. She was named a finalist for the Livingston Awards and won a Newswomen’s Club of New York Front Page Award. She serves as a juror for the American Academy of Religion award for best in-depth news writing.
