Hirokazu Yoshikawa
Professor of Globalization and Education, NYU Steinhardt
Yoshikawa, who’s also a professor at NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, and co-director, NYU’s Global TIES for Children center, is a community and developmental psychologist. He studies the effects of public policies and programs related to immigration, early childhood, and poverty reduction on children’s development, conducting research in the U.S. and in low- and middle-income countries. He also researches culture, sexuality, and youth and young adult development in the context of GSAs (gender and sexuality alliances). Global TIES for Children leads efforts in generating evidence to support humanitarian and development aid.
