Maria Suchy-Kozak
Education Advocate, Student Advocacy
Suchy-Kozak, an experienced special education advocate, is an expert in New York State adult disability systems. Her work includes attending Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings with parents and disabled students to ensure that the school district is implementing an appropriate IEP for him/her. A member of NYS IEP Facilitators, she serves on the state Family Support Services Advisory Council, which informs the state about local needs of disabled individuals. She has raised autistic children and advocated on their behalf.
